Ever been in the car, driving the kids home after a sports game, when the smell of their sports shoes becomes so overwhelming that you have to wind down the windows just to get a breath of fresh air?
If you have, you’ll understand exactly where the inspiration for SPHERABALL began. As a parent, getting the kids to sport, supporting them on the sidelines and driving them home is all part of the experience. But dealing with the smell of sweaty sports shoes? Not so much.
We wanted to create something that could help tackle unwanted shoe odours while looking good and being practical enough for everyday use.
When we looked at what was available, we couldn’t find anything that combined the appearance, practicality and design we were looking for.
Rather than settle for what was already on the market, we decided to develop our own idea. And that’s how SPHERABALL began.
The original spherical concept became the foundation for a reusable product with a replaceable refill system, designed with convenience and everyday use in mind.
SPHERABALL is a New Zealand-formulated idea and design, inspired by the everyday frustrations of active families. From weekend sports games and after-school training to gym sessions and running, sports footwear is part of everyday life for millions of people.
Our goal was to create a product that was not only practical, but also looked great.
Every step of the development journey has been about turning a simple idea into something real.

We wanted something you wouldn’t mind having in your sports bag, at home, or in the car. Something made for people who live active lives and understand the little frustrations that come with them.
